Articles, reports, interviews and photographs have been supplied to the Dorset Echo, Speedway Star, Fastlane BMX magazine and numerous websites including the BBC news website together with the sites listed on the right to name but a few. Indeed Tim wrote a weekly article for the Speedway Star about the Isle of Wight Speedway team in 2011.
After DJ-ing for 21 years Tim turned his attentions to the sport he loves - Speedway - where he announced and presented at Speedway tracks including Weymouth and the Isle of Wight in the National league, Premier league Somerset and Elite league Poole Speedway.
2013 will see Tim building and running the website for the UK’s newest speedway team based in Kent, as yet they have to confirm their name but already there is a holding page in place for Kent Speedway.
Again 2011 saw Tim invited back to the Isle of Wight as presenter for the Speedway meetings from April through until October together with undertaking the press officers role issuing press releases for the Isle of Wight Speedway Club as well. This was set to continue for the 2012 season along with the design of the matchday programme from cover to cover.
Unfortunately the SCB (Speedway Control Board) brought in a new rule banning laptops and mobile phones in official areas, this would have an adverse effect on the main business of MAD Web so Tim stood down from the position. Within hours he then stood down from all other roles after the club could not come to a satisfactory arrangement over travel costs.
Meanwhile he team managed a successful 50-40 win for Weymouth Wildcats over Plymouth Devils in an early season challenge fixture in March with a side that included all former Wildcat riders plus amateur rider Weymouth based Jamie Dixon which was to be the only outing for the Wildcats in 2012.
Tim undertook to team manage a Weymouth Wildcats team in a Four Team Tournament at Plymouth in August 2011 where they were pipped by a refereeing decision, but such was the interest he decided that proper race jackets were needed and more challenge fixtures were needed to help keep the name of Weymouth alive.
A sponsor came forward in the shape of Doonan Sand and Gravel who arranged for Tim’s new race jacket design to be produced. A second challenge fixture in October at Somerset against an Exeter Falcons side also without a track took place with the Falcons winning the six heat second half meeting.
Several more fixtures are planned for the 2013 season and news will be released here and on the official Weymouth Wildcats website.
2010 also saw a new challenge of providing voiceovers for DL Sport Promotions DVDs filmed at Weymouth Speedway. With the closure of Weymouth Tim was asked instead to provide the voiceovers for the Plymouth ‘Devils’ DVD’s for the 2011 season.
